Refunds
When a payment is refunded, when it is not, and how to ask for one.

These terms are between you and the operator of Keyhalt: legal entity name, registered address and company number — to be supplied by the operator
The short version
If something went wrong on our side — you were charged twice, you never received a key, or the key you received does not work and cannot be replaced — you get your money back. If you bought a working key and changed your mind, you do not, because the key is delivered immediately and cannot be taken back.
Always refunded
- A duplicate charge for the same order.
- A payment that took your money but never delivered a key, and cannot be fixed by issuing one.
- A key that does not work at all and that we cannot replace with a working one.
Not refunded
- A working key you no longer want. Delivery is instant and a delivered key cannot be returned.
- A key that was shared, resold or published, which voids it.
- Time already used on a plan that runs for a fixed period.
- A product that stops working because software it depends on changed, where a replacement or an update is offered instead.
How to ask
Write to [email protected] within 14 days of the payment. Include the reference from your payment page or e-mail, and say what happened. We reply within one business day.
Approved refunds go back to the card that was charged, through Stripe. Your bank decides how long it then takes to appear — usually five to ten business days.
Chargebacks
If you do not recognise a charge from Keyhalt, please write to us before asking your bank to reverse it. A chargeback takes weeks and voids the licence; an e-mail usually settles it the same day.
Before you write
The help page answers the common cases — a key that has not arrived, a link that expired, a charge you cannot place — and tells you what to put in the message.
